Social media has exploded the internet space and businesses realize the amazing potential to attract more customers. The social space multiplied rapidly because it gave internet users a chance to interact with each other and share photos, content, or personal information via the web.

With so many businesses communicating to potential customers across social media platforms, one would not resist keeping away. Hundreds of millions of users utilize these platforms and are congregated in the major sites such as Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook. This represents an amazing opportunity for brands to showcase their brands to their target audience.

Below are some of the social media trends we selected to help brands design  better social media strategies for their businesses:

1.Use Stories ( Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat)

Content teams adapt to new sharing formats like stories. Social media platforms are increasingly turning away from text-based platforms, originally designed for desktop computers (remember the beginnings of Facebook), to move towards 100% mobile networks that allow users to capture experiences on the spot. The stories embody this turning point. Stories are extremely visual and are meant to be created effortlessly and “consumed” after 24 hours. All you need to create a story is a smartphone and a touch of creativity, nothing more. Stories are authentic, immediate and very personal. Brands will, therefore, have to start a real turning point of their products.

2.Advertising

The increasing paid advertising competition on social networks forces marketers to improve! Nowadays, almost all marketers acknowledge the importance of utilizing paid advertising on social media. Social media offers different targeting options depending on the business objective the brands are targeting and a diversity of highly sophisticated targeting options that help brands reach their goals efficiently such as geographical location, gender, age, interest…etc.

3.Use More Videos

We have kept this trend in mind for the last two years , and not surprisingly the video should dominate the market again in 2019. Experts agree that soon, 80% of what we consume online will be video content. But not just any type of video, especially real-time content. Internet users are looking for authentic content that allows them to establish and maintain a direct link with your company.

4.Exploit The E-Commerce Channel

The improvement of e-commerce technologies on social networks boosts. New and evolving technologies are changing this trend, especially among young buyers. The Shopping function on Instagram now allows users to buy the right products after viewing them, and without leaving the application. The Explorer page of the platform even has a new Shopping tab.

5. Micro-Influencers

Today’s consumers do not just want to buy a product; they are also looking for a story behind the product. Are you trying to reach a fairly nested target? Consider an association with a micro-influencer! Indeed, the micro-influencers have smaller but extremely engaged audiences.. Also, their paid plans are more affordable, and they are seen as a trusted source of information by their followers and fans.

6.The Power Of Messages

Customers demand better experiences, focused on face-to-face interaction. Major messaging applications such as WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, WeChat, QQ, and Skype now account for nearly 5 billion active users per month, which is more than the traditional social networking community around the world. In general, users spend more time on their e-mail and less time sharing their news on social media. This transition from the public sphere to the private sphere has an impact on consumer expectations.Never put all of your eggs in the social media basket but do not disregard it either. Give great importance to social media marketing and online customer service!
